The community is deeply mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Sebastian Jan Janas of Hampshire, who passed away far too soon on December 13, 2025, in Northern Michigan. Sebastian’s untimely death has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched everyone around him, and his absence will be felt dearly by those who loved him.
Sebastian was born in Poland on November 25, 1981, to his loving parents, Ryszard and Elzbieta Janas. From the moment of his birth, he brought joy and love into the lives of those around him. His journey eventually brought him to the United States, where he built a life filled with love, dedication, and meaningful connections. Sebastian was a devoted and beloved husband to his wife Agnieszka for 25 years. Their marriage was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership, and together, they raised two wonderful children, Victoria and Brian, who were his pride and joy.
Sebastian was not only a caring husband and father but also a dedicated brother to Izabella Dubanski. His family was his anchor, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Known for his warm smile, generous nature, and unwavering loyalty, Sebastian was a man who always put others before himself. His friends and family remember him as someone who was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply share a heartfelt laugh.
In honoring Sebastian’s life and legacy, a memorial gathering will be held on December 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home, located at 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin, IL 60102. This will be an opportunity for friends and family to come together, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched so many hearts.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, located at 111 Hubbard Street, Algonquin, IL 60102. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church 15 minutes prior to the service to pay their respects and offer prayers for Sebastian’s eternal rest. Following the mass, his internment will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine, where he will be laid to rest in eternal peace.
Sebastian’s legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. His spirit will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends as they carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
