It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Cole Patrick Thierer, a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, who left us on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the age of 22. Born on March 15, 2003, in Dunlap, Illinois, Cole’s life was a shining example of love, purpose, and the profound impact one person can have on those around him. Though his time on earth was brief, his spirit and legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Cole is survived by his siblings, Talen and Ella Thierer, with whom he shared a close and enduring bond. His loving grandparents, John and Dawn Meyer, along with Joe and Sue Thierer, played a vital role in nurturing his growth and celebrating his milestones. Among his extended family are cherished aunts and uncles, Chris (Amy) Thierer, Michelle (Joe) Kahn, and Joe Thierer, as well as beloved cousins Jordan Thierer, Keri Thierer, Jack Kahn, and Lucy Kahn. His longtime girlfriend, Anastasia, shared countless joyful moments with him, along with their cherished French bulldogs, Mav and Winnie, who brought him immense happiness. Cole was preceded in death by his uncle, Drew Meyer.
Deeply devoted to his family, Cole maintained close relationships with his loved ones despite living away from home over the past five years—residing in Iowa City, Miami, and Chicago. He kept daily contact with his parents and siblings, always ending each conversation with a heartfelt “I love you,” a simple yet powerful reflection of his generous heart and unwavering love.
Beyond his family, Cole was known for his loyalty, compassion, and eagerness to help friends both personally and professionally. He cherished the time spent with Anastasia and their dogs, creating memories filled with laughter and joy that defined his everyday life.
A driven and ambitious individual, Cole was also a remarkable entrepreneur. By 18, he had founded his own company, showcasing his determination, vision, and incredible work ethic. His passions extended to politics, where he confidently expressed his conservative beliefs and engaged in respectful, meaningful debate. His conviction and willingness to stand by his principles reflected his thoughtful and principled character.
Though the loss of Cole is devastating, his legacy of love, dedication, and joy remains alive in the hearts of his family and friends. His laughter, spirit, and kindness will be forever remembered.
